The home side were looking to build on their recent Coppa Italia victory over Torino, in pursuit of the coveted 4th spot. The good news for Delio Rossi’s men was the return of Francelino Matuzalem to the bench after months out through injury.
Cagliari made the trip to the Capital in fine form and were looking to consolidate their position of mid-table safety. A win for the Isolani would put them on the left side of the standings for the first time this season.
