Sevilla dropped a Spanish La Liga match at home, 2-0, on Sunday to 10-man Racing Santander to fall to third in the league table.
Cesar Navas gave Racing the lead just 24 minutes in, but things looked bleak when Oscar Serrano was shown a straight red card for a foul on Adriano less than 10 minutes later.
But not only was Racing able to hang onto the lead the rest of the half, it added to it just after the break when Nikola Zigic headed home to close out the scoring.
